FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT MY PAINTING TRIPS…

If I am a beginning painter, can I attend your workshop? Absolutely, my workshops are for small groups of people (anywhere from 4-12 students), so I can work with you and teach you whatever level skills you need. I believe anyone can learn to paint and draw if they have the interest.

What is a typical day in one of your workshops?  After breakfast,  we  have an  art  lesson in our home studio, then we explore and paint in a nearby village..  We also sight-see, sit in cafes, visit museums, shop, stroll and lunch.  Generally your afternoon is  free for napping, shopping, exploring etc.  We meet in our studio in the late afternoon  for more instruction and painting.  Cocktail hour/snack time takes place in the studio in the late afternoon and dinner is served around 7:00.  After dinner, leisure time allows you to take a walk, visit a café or read a book.. The studio is open 24 hours if you want to continue working.

I can find a less expensive tour then yours.  Why should I go with you?  You need to look carefully at the details of any tour you are considering.  My trips include painting instruction daily, small groups, charming comfortable hotels in safe locations, personally arranged transportation, gourmet meals and months of planning and preparation done to create a tour specialized to the needs of artistic participants who enjoy picturesque locations .

What is special about your trips? We stay in small local villages off the beaten track, where you meet the local residents and interact with them. We use local drivers and cooks and visit local artists and craftspeople in their homes. You have plenty of opportunities to have conversations with the locals.

What if I come alone on your trip?  You will travel with a friendly group of like- minded people with similar interests. Many friendships have formed from people meeting on my trips and I have many repeat customers. You are welcome to bring a non- painting friend or spouse. We can find lots of things for them to do, while you are painting.

Who can answer my questions about travel details?  Eileen Condon, my assistant, is along on all my workshops. Eileen has traveled to 5 continents and knows her way around the world. Eileen and I have held workshops in Tuscany, France and England. We will hold our 11th European travel workshop in Provence, France this May. Our 12th trip will be to Tuscany, September 8-12, 2012...
